Ascension School

Ascension School assists 8th graders through the high school application process every step of the way.    We begin the year with an information night especially for 8th grade parents, where the details of your child's upcoming school year will be discussed, including the high school application process.  The school has a high school guidance program where NYC Catholic High Schools are invited to come in to our school and conduct information sessions with our 8th graders.  This provides a more intimate and student-friendly environment that allows our students to ask questions and receive as much information about each high school as possible.  Ascension students attend many diverse Catholic High Schools, including but not limited to, Cristo Rey, Cardinal Spellman, Cardinal Hayes, Notre Dame, St. Jean Baptiste, Cathedral and many others. 

We assist students in filling out the public high school applications.  We also encourage our students to take the Specialized High School exams for schools such as Stuyvesant High School, Bronx High School of Science and Brooklyn Tech.  We had two member of the Class of 2009 go on to Bronx High School of Science and Brooklyn Tech. What a great accomplishment to be proud of!
