 Welcome to the First Grade!

 Welcome to our first grade.  I say, "our first grade," because I know I am not doing all of this by myself.  I am going to need your help throughout the year.  I am counting on your cooperation to ensure the best educational growth possible for your children.

This year promises to be an awakening of new beginnings for the children as well as for me, both educationally as well as spiritually.  Your children will leave the first grade with a multitude of "first steps of knowledge" that will hopefully be the starting point of their own sense of wanting to learn more.  I hope to introduce them to new windows of opportunities and possibilities, to plant seeds that will carry them for the rest of their lives... to enhance their thirst for knowledge.

Our goals include:  Learning addition and subtraction with regrouping, learning how to multiply, using algebra to solve equations, learning to write sentences that will lead to writing stories, poems and letters, reading and reading some more until we get to those wonderful chapter books....

The sky is the limit in the first grade!
